Models MX-3 and MX-5 Ultrasonic Thickness Gauges

The hand held MX-3 Ultrasonic Thickness Gauge is an affordable precision tool that requires no special training to operate. Simply touch the probe to one side of the material and the MX-3 tells you its thickness. Or, drag the probe along the surface of the material and the MX-3 will automatically scan the area for the thinnest reading.

The MX-3 is a lightweight, rugged tool that is resistant to water and oil. The tool's backlit display is easy to read, even in dim light, and the unit operates for up to 200 hours on a single set of batteries. It also features a bar graph to indicate signal strength.

The MX-5 Ultrasonic Thickness Gauge is loaded with the features that make taking measurements and reporting them easier than ever before. These features include Alarm Mode, Differential Mode, and High Speed Scan Mode.

The Alarm Mode: If the measurement falls below your minimum specified value, the red LED will light and the beeper will sound. The green LED will light to indicate an acceptable thickness.

The Differential Mode: The unit will display the positive or negative difference of your minimum specified value.

The High Speed Scan Mode: By dragging the probe across any given area, the unit will display the thinnest reading it found. The MX-5 scans at a rate of 16 readings per second.

The MX-5 also has an RS232 data port that allows you to send data to a computer, printer or an external data recoding device.

In addition to all of the outstanding features of the Model MX-5, the MX-5DL will automatically store the readings in numeric order with a simple push of the SEND key, up to 1000 readings with its numeric location code.
