Brix Refractometers
The Brix Refractometer shows the concentration percentage of the soluble solids content (Total solids) of a sample (water solution). The soluble solids content is the total of all the solids dissolved in the water - beginning with sugar, salts, protein, acids, etc. and the measurement reading value is the value of the sum total of those. Essentially Brix% is calibrated to the number of grams of cane sugar contained in 100g of cane sugar solution. So, when measuring a sugar solution, the Brix% should perfectly match the actual concentration.
Salinity refractometers are useful for measuring the concentration of natural or artificial seawater in aquariums, holding tanks, and breeding ponds. They can also be used for controlling the saltwater concentration when preparing pickles, measuring the concentration of saltwater used in rinsing and cooking sea products.
It is essential to know the concentration and freezing point of anti-freeze coolants for vehicular safety. Keeping a suitable concentration of coolant prevents engine trouble and possible radiator corrosion. This tester monitors the freezing point of both Ethylene Glycol and Propylene Glycol; in addition, it indicates battery recharge level.
