The Trackers inject a precisely controlled sine wave test voltage into the component under test. The CRT displays current over voltage; a signature. Each component has its own unique signature and a failed component's signature is easily recognizable after only a little training. You can even compare to known good components.

Trackers let you troubleshoot without turning on power, which is safer and precludes further damage. By limiting the current and voltage applied, the Trackers do not cause damage to good components, no matter how sensitive they are. Trackers work on all types of electronic components from power transistors and power supply capacitors down to the newest IC chips.
